I don’t know the cause, but it was annoying. This could have been because it was being run externally, Vista, or VirtualBox. I installed VirtualBox and Windows Vista on an external hard drive and ran the Toolset. I originally didn’t need my 64 bit version so it had a serial number. I didn’t have a spare, unused key for Win7 or 8 but I did have one for Windows Vista.

I’ve slept since then and can’t tell you exactly what I did or didn’t do.

That could have been because I wasn’t setting up VirtualBox correctly.

I tried the key to an old computer and two from Win7 but neither worked. If you’re already using the Toolset, I’m going to assume you’re beyond that level and know your way around a PC. If you’re someone who only knows basics of how to turn on a video game and play, pick up your email and surf the internet, you may have trouble with this. This method isn’t for a complete computer novice. There’s other ways of doing this, but they take more computer savvy than I have. This allows a PC user to run more than one copy of Windows on one computer. The only work around I found was to use VirtualBox. The problem might be rare, it might be something other people found a simple fix and never posted, or it may be that modders are advanced in their coding skills and don’t need the Toolset. Either my search terms were in another ball park or there wasn’t a lot of information out there. I spent hours combing the internet looking for the specific error, what might be wrong, or how to fix it. I can’t recall what it was, but the Toolset didn’t work. When I did, the Toolset gave me an error. I got a new computer and like many people, I went from Win7 to Win10. Why this happens remains a mystery to me. This problem doesn’t seem to plague everyone but for some people, Windows 10 no longer runs the Dragon Age Toolset. It’s story time fellow Dragon Age addicts. Replace and update your version of Dragon Age: Origins If nothing else works, download and run the Toolset through an older copy of Windows (Don’t laugh, I spent an hour and reinstalled Inquisition only to find out Avast was blocking its access to the internet and making it crash.)ģ. Make sure your Antivirus program isn’t blocking it. Make sure your firewall isn’t blocking the ToolsetĢ.
